Happy, Tappy & Zappy

These are three interactive audio sculptures I was commissioned to make by Travelling Light Circus for Solfest 2015.

Happy is a voice changer: playing your voice back to you at absurdly low or high pitches.

Tappy is a drum machine: playing different samples when you touch 12 touch-sensitive panels.

Zappy is a jumbo synth: playing bleeps, bloops and wails when you mash the big trigger button and turn the wheels.

Since construction, they’ve visited several other small festivals, including Bearded Theory and SO Festival. Constructed with weatherproofing and durability in mind, they’ve stood up to the worst the British summertime/public can throw at them. They also travel nested like russian dolls.
