For Kew Garden’s 2015 Christmas illuminations I helped develop the The Spiral Tree for Travelling Light Circus. The project involved controlling two strips containing thousands of LEDs from unique steampunk “consoles”. I was responsible for developing the electronics and software for LED control, user interaction, communications, assistance with the installation, and any troubleshooting while the project was running. The installation was open 4-5 nights per week for 6 weeks, outdoors, in winter conditions, for tens of thousands of visitors.
The installation has made outings in different forms – there’s many ways to arrange a Spiral of Lights.
